A. Yes. Aura prevents the card from being selected by enemy abilities, but in this case, you are the one selecting Heavenly Aegis. Also, burying a card isn't the same as destroying it.
Q. If my leader's defense is an odd number at the start of my end phase, and I have no followers on my field, do I still choose (1) and give my leader -1 defense?
A. Yes, you do.
